Because we believe in importance of learning by doing, we give opportunities for candidates to make practice in teaching from early years of the program. We conduct workshops where teacher candidates work involuntarily under the monitoring of academicians. Mathematics Workshops are organized in schools in the neighborhood where Support for Education program is carried out in the campus. Teacher candidates work with students in the form of implementation of mathematical tasks and also scaffolding students’ mathematical understanding. Thus, they have an opportunity to improve their pedagogical content knowledge before they graduate.
Teacher candidates are given opportunities to improve their skills in their area of interest by taking elective courses offered by other programs. They may apply for double major and minor degree in different programs. They may also apply for student exchange program (ERASMUS) for one-semester and take courses from a university in Europe.
