Course Objectives: 
The aim of this course is both to discuss and make practice about the goals of teaching mathematics, use of learning and teaching theories in mathematics and contemporary trends in teaching mathematics.
Course Content: 
Nature of mathematics and mathematical thinking; meaning of learning and teaching mathematics; aims and principles of mathematics teaching; history of mathematics teaching; use of teaching and learning approaches in mathematics teaching; fundamental skills in mathematics teaching; examples of in-class practices; contemporary trends and problems in mathematics teaching; components of effective mathematics teaching; looking at mathematics teaching through social, cultural and financial lenses.
