Course Objectives:
This course is designed to introduce pre-service English language teachers in their 3rd year to the teaching profession and a 5th or 7th grade EFL class of a state or private school. It also aims to improve prospective teachers’ understanding of the link between theory and practice through short teaching practices in a real school context, observing EFL learners, and examining materials used in an EFL class. The teacher candidates will also improve their abilities to prepare age- and proficiency level-appropriate materials and activities to practice English effectively. Thus, the course focuses on enhancing their teaching and planning skills through reflections on their school experience.
Course Content:
Through this course, students will have a clear understanding of the school environment, students, textbooks within the Ministry of Education and language syllabi at state schools.
