Course Objectives: 
This course deals with literary genres, using examples chosen from the main representatives of certain genres. The relationship between the expectations of the reader regarding the genre of a text and the influence of his expectations upon the reception of a text will be discussed.
Course Content: 

What is “genre”? What is a literary genre? Historical evoluation of literary genres. Epic, comedy, tragedy, essay, novel, short story, poetry.
