Course Objectives: 
This course deals with giving theoretical knowledge based on initial work samples of the Turkish folk literature.
Course Content: 

Focusing on “folklore” concept and its definition; historical developments of the folk literature and its examining fields, Diwan u Lugati’t Türk as a basic source of the Turkish folk literature (poetry and epics samples), Codex Cumanicus a basic source of the Turkish folk literature; comparative of selected texts from epics, and folk tales genres
