Course Objectives: 
This course deals with basic concepts in linguistics and gives insights into especially structuralism contemporary movements, theories, branches, and schools of linguistics in addition to contemporary grammar models particularly transformational generative grammar and dependency grammar. Moreover, this course underlines practical studies together with the use of these in teaching mother tongue. The aim of this course is to convey knowledge and findings of language and linguistic studies carried out at home and abroad and form a basis to examine Turkish language with regard to new theories
