Course Objectives: 
The course aims to acquaint the students with Ottoman Turkish and its basic grammatical features. In this course, they will learn Arabic alphabet and its transcription system through printed texts. The course comprises mainly the reading and discussion of a selection of set printed texts. The readings will be of texts written in Ottoman Turkish in 20th century.
Course Content: 

Writing assimilating the letter positions to combine them into words, transcription and interpretation of Ottoman texts.
