Course Objectives: 
Students in this course are expected to regard the difference between idiomatic translation and literal translation, what is required for successful translations, the factors and other related fields that affect such translations, and translate between Turkish and English successfully.
Course Content: 

This course is intended to serve as an introduction to translation studies, its theoretical foundations, and linguistic needs. In this course, we will explore what it is to translate from one language into another, the role of form, the role of meaning, sociocultural background, and basic concepts of translation studies with various textual examples.
